How to book a computer IELTS test

Step 1: Find a test date

ILAC IELTS runs computer-based tests up to 6 days per week at B20-688 West Hastings Street, Vancouver.

Visit our website to search for available test dates. Choose a test date and test type (General Training or Academic), then select Book Now.

You will be redirected to to complete your registration.


Step 2: Select your Speaking time

Select your Speaking test time. This is a 20-minute time slot.

When you are done, click Review booking.

Check the times of your Speaking and your Listening, Reading and Writing sections. If you want to change the times, click on the edit icons.

The total fee is $339.00 CAD and includes taxes. 

If everything looks right, read and agree to the Terms and Conditions to proceed. Click Log in and complete your booking.


Step 3: Create a new account or log in to an existing account

Sign up for an IELTS account using your email address.

If you have taken a computer-based IELTS test before*, click the Log In button to log in to your existing account.

(*If you have taken a paper-based IELTS test before, or you took a computer-based test before January 2, 2024, you will need to sign up for a new account.)

When you create an account, you must include your ID number.

The following IDs are accepted by IELTS Canada:

  • International Passport
  • Canadian Permanent Resident Card

Do not upload your driver's license, BCID or other provincial ID number. Your application will not be verified without an approved document. Find out more about accepted documents here.

Create your password, then read and agree to the IDP Privacy and Data Policy to proceed. Select Create an account.


Step 4: Complete payment

Once you have created an account, choose how you want to pay.

Pay Online with Braintree: Choose this if you want to pay with a credit or debit card.

Pay offline: Choose this if you want to pay with cash. Visit our office before the registration deadline to pay in person. B20-688 West Hastings Street, Vancouver. Get Directions.


Step 5: Upload your ID document photo

Remember to upload a photo of your ID document before your test. We recommend doing this right after you book the test so we can verify your application.
