If you believe your score doesn’t reflect your performance, you can request a remark on any part of your test. Remarks are known as an Enquiry on Results (EOR).

You can submit a request up to 42 days after your test date. Remark requests are not accepted later than this.

How does it work?
Remarks are carried out by a senior examiner. Remarks are independent and unbiased, meaning the examiner will not see your original score.
You can request a remark on any section. For example:
- Example 1: You want to remark the Speaking test only. You can request an Enquiry on Results on IELTS Speaking. The cost is $260.00.
- Example 2: You want to remark the entire test. You can request an Enquiry on Results on IELTS Speaking, Writing, Listening and Reading. The cost is $260.00.
How long does it take?
Remarks can take between 1 day and 45 days (during peak times). The average processing time is around 7 to 21 days.
We cannot:
- provide an exact date that the outcome will be available
- cancel the remark once it has started
- or make it happen faster.
What happens after the remark?
We will contact you when the remark is complete.
If at least one of your scores increases, we will provide a refund and a new Test Report Form. Wait up to 24 hours for your results to update online: https://ielts.idp.com/results/check-your-result
If your scores do not change, there is no refund. You will get an email explaining that your scores have not changed.

Can you make my remark happen faster?
No. The process may take 1 day or 45 days. We cannot control when the outcome is available.
Can I cancel my remark request?
If you change your mind, email us immediately. If we have already started processing it, the remark cannot be cancelled and no refund will be provided. However, only if the remark hasn't yet started, we might be able to cancel it and refund your fee.
Can I still submit my results to organizations or request new copies of my TRF while waiting for my remark outcome?
No, your test results are locked until the remark is complete. Your test centre cannot issue new TRF copies or send your results to any organization while you have a remark in progress. For this reason, we don't recommend applying for a remark if you have an urgent deadline, unless you are prepared to miss that deadline.
